The 5-Minute Daily Leadership Check-In

Online
One-on-One

Great leadership is built through daily reflection, not just big decisions. Taking just five minutes at the end of your day to pause and reflect can strengthen your emotional intelligence, improve your relationships, and help you lead with greater clarity and intention.

3 Daily Reflection Questions

Every evening, take a notebook or open a document and answer these three questions:

  1. What did I do today that positively influenced my team or colleagues?
→ Acknowledge the small moments of impact : a kind word, clear guidance, or active listening.

  2. What could I have done differently in my interactions?
→ Identify one area where you could improve:  more patience, clearer communication, or stronger presence.

  3. What intention do I want to set for tomorrow as a leader?
→ Choose one specific focus for the next day – e.g., “I will listen more before responding” or “I will encourage my team in our meeting.”

Closing reflection

By repeating this simple check-in every day, you train two key elements of resonant leadership:

  • Self-reflection → understanding your impact and choices.

  • Accountability → intentionally shaping how you want to show up as a leader tomorrow.

Tip: Keep a short leadership journal. Over time, you’ll see patterns and track your growth as a leader.
